Hi, I'm Justin Lieu!
I am a self-driven and dedicated software engineer with a passion
for problem solving and learning. I am currently a technical support engineer at Accenture, and have worked previously as a cloud support specialist and data analyst.
I have extensive experience with full stack development, querying, and data visualization.
When I'm not creating SPAs or games, I love editing videos, competiting in combat sports, and reading mangas.
Skills: Ruby, JavaScript, Java, C, C++, C#,
Python, SQL, Postgresql, LitElement, Dash, Plotly, HTML5, CSS3, jQuery, Scala, Matlab,
Bash, ARM Assembly, Unix, Linux, Git, AWS, MongoDB, Express.js, Node.js, ActiveStorage,
MVC, Active Record, Vim, Eclipse, Visual Studio
I began university as an undeclared major. However, inspired by my passion for creating, I took my first computer science class where I quickly fell in love with programming. As changing majors to Computer Science was based on a lottery system at UCSD, I transferred to SCU.
At Santa Clara University, I managed to complete rigorous computer science and engineering courses while also balancing two jobs. In addition, I was a very dedicated student athlete that not only represented SCU in boxing tournaments, but also acted as a student coach.
After graduating from SCU with my degree in CS, I began an intensive coding bootcamp named App Academy to sharpen my hands on experience. The skills I obtained from creating full stack projects at App Academy combined with the math, theory, and algorithms from my university courses quickly heightened me into a more well-rounded software engineer.
At Tutoria, I contributed to React and json legacy code. I was always eager to help improve the educational features for the company's hundreds of clients and volunteers while working with a team of international developers.
As a data analyst WaterGuru, I queried, refined, and analyzed data from multiple sources including AWS Aurora, AWS Dynamo, Woo Commerce, SalesForce, and spreadsheets through Python libraries to create interactive visualizations resulting in constant improvement of product performance and customer satisfaction. The culmination of these efforts produced a Dash Plotly SPA connected to a Postgresql database that visualizes WaterGuru's data, and updates its data visualizations on a daily basis.
At Accenture, I've improved my cloud platform and technical support skills by providing platform level troubleshooting, code debugging, and application service onboarding via the utilization of independent technical reproductions, first level bug triaging and elevations (through SFDC and issue tracker), and production and maintenance of standardized technical documentation.
